Empowering Young Innovators – Wardley Primary School’s Robotics Team

This week’s blog post is something a little different, and we’re thrilled to share some exciting news with you all!

We recently had a ringside view of Wardley Primary School’s robotics team at the global championship in Dallas, Texas – the 2023 VEX IQ Robotics World Championship. And guess what? Our very own Anthony Ramsey, Lead Project Manager here at WMW, had his daughter right in the midst of the action!

The competition, featuring over 8000 teams from 40 countries, had Wardley Primary School’s team representing the UK, and they didn’t just participate; they left an indelible mark, securing 26th position in their division and an impressive 270th worldwide!

At Washington Metalworks, we’ve always strongly believed in playing our part in nurturing future innovators who will shape not only our industry but also our planet for years to come.

Skills & Research

This journey was about more than rankings. The team earned recognition for excellence in both the Skills and Research sectors. Their dedication and skill shone on a truly global stage, emphasising the importance of holistic learning in STEM fields.

A Collaborative Effort

Washington Metalworks proudly played a role in supporting this incredible journey. Through collaborative efforts with the Reece Foundation, Nissan, and our own contributions, we contributed to the success of these young innovators. It’s a testament to the impact that collaboration and investment in education can have on shaping the future.
