About the role:

  • You will be using MIG and TIG welding
  • Using different materials such as mild steel, aluminium and stainless to create products for a wide range of customers
  • You will read drawings and fabricate from this.
  • We are a fast-paced environment and will expect for you to be able to work independently on a wide range of different jobs.
The candidate:
  • We would like for you to have experience as a Plater, Welder, Sheet Metal Workers or Fabricator
  • WMW are a supportive company, and we will endeavour to support employees who are not yet qualified but who show willing.
  • You will be required to read drawings and interpret them to create the products for our customers.

Function – Final Assembly

Reports to: Process Manager

38 hours per week, Monday – Friday

Salary – Up to £10.60 per hour

We are a successful Manufacturing company based in Gateshead, with an ambitious strategic growth plan through investment and development. We are continuing to expand the business in equipment, facilities and products and therefore require a Final Assembly Operative to work with us as our business grows.

Summary of the main purpose of the role:

Operating production machinery and tools including handheld power tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the completion of the assembly process of all Washington Metalwork products
  • Ensure work is consistently completed to the high-quality standards
  • Attention to Detail
  • Show commitment to good Health & Safety practice
  • Maintain a Clean & Tidy production area
  • Be a great team player
General Responsibilities
The specific responsibilities set out above reflect the main duties of the role described, however as the company develops these may alter.
Standard Responsibilities for all positions in WMW  
  • Participate in any staff review/performance management processes involving the identifying and meeting of training needs for self and others.

Function – Machine Shop

Reports to: Area Process Manager

38 hours per week, Monday – Friday

Salary – Up to £12.10 per hour

We are a successful Manufacturing company based in Gateshead, with an ambitious strategic growth plan through investment and development. We are continuing to expand the business in equipment, facilities and products and therefore require fold operators to work with us as our business grows.

Summary of the main purpose of the role:

Operating production machinery, specifically folding and bending machines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the machine to produce parts in accordance with specifications, drawings and working instructions.
  • Guarantee their own work is to the highest standard.
  • Show good attention to detail.
  • Show commitment to good Health & Safety practice
  • Maintain a Clean & Tidy production area
  • Be a great team player
  • Participate in production planning to ensure timely production of parts.
  • Participate in training activities relating to the machines, system and processes within the company.
General Responsibilities
